I'm Carey P., the breeder behind Peacock’s Pride Australian Shepherds located in Milton, TN. We have been breeding AKC Australian Shepherds for a decade. We raise happy, healthy, beautiful, calm Aussies with tails.
Q. & A. with Carey
Why did you start breeding?
Everything I do, I give 100%. I got into breeding after reflecting upon our awesome 1st Australian Shepherd, Pepper. We live on 133 acres with ponds & trails. After mich research, I decided to purchase 2 Aussies. When two years passed & I had studied their genetics & temperament, I decided to try breeding one litter. Holding that 1st newborn pup as he took his 1st breath had me hooked forever.
What makes your program special?
We breed for calm Australian Shepherds. We do not dock tails, as we place our dogs in loving pet/emotional support/service animal/agility/trick training homes primarily.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Peacock’s Pride Australian Shepherds reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Shepherds.
Standard Veterinary Blood Panel
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
