About Olympic
When I pictured what what a good working dog was for me I pictured Olympic. While he he exhibits traits of the breed standard temperament, most notable his high energy, drive, and athleticsim for the breed; my favorite parts about him is that he is thoughtful in his sociability.
Every person or dog he meets does not automatically become his friend, and more often times then not he completely ignores the general public while out and about. He will however pay good amounts of attention to a confident person handling him even if they are a stranger, I have observed him perfectly willing to work for fair and dog savy handlers and he is not opposed to his leash being handed off. With dogs he is more open to greeting but strict when it comes to rude behaviors, any corrections displayed have remained appropriate and verbal. I would summarize him as a mark between dog selective - dog social, and this has made keeping him neutral to other pups a breeze to work on.
Once someone is apart of the group in his mind the outgoing and friendly nature described for labradors is on full display. he is largely handler oriented and has a tendency to block everyone else out when I or an opportunity to work is present. Despite his age this boy is quickly becoming an athlete and has shown aptitude for a number of sports and activities. He currently works actively as a Multipurpose Service Dog and is actively training in the sport of French Ring.
He has nice drives for both jobs, able to work for a good amount of time and shows true enjoyment. Is neutral while working in public, but hot and ready out on the field. He shows a good balance of desire and drive on the field without losing his ability to think and maintain obedience. This is also notable while vested in public, he does not need constant rewards and takes a lot of reinforcment for preforming behaviors correctly and being told so.
Olympic is a working dog with drive. We anticipate this being passed down to his offspring.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Excellent level
Peak Horizon Working Dogs reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Labrador Retrievers.
Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
D Locus (Dilute) DNA test, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
