I'm Valerie A., the breeder behind Penfro Corgis located in Jacksonville, FL. I work with my dogs in Obedience, Trick Dog, Herding and Conformation. As a life-long learner, I am dedicated to always breed excellence in temperament and superior breed type for a happy, healthy dog.
Q. & A. with Valerie
Why did you start breeding?
I have had dogs all my life and a passion for the Corgi breeds. I began in obedience performance with my first corgi and became interested in the other areas of performance. I have worked with a professional handler and co-bred litters prior to breeding on my own. My mentors are a constant in my life to provide invaluable assistance in progressing my breeding program.
What makes your program special?
I breed my dogs with a purpose. I do not breed often, but when I do, it is because I want a new puppy for myself. I breed for health and temperament to a superior breed type is my emphasis. Health and genetic testing and early socialization provides the best opportunity for a long and healthy life for my puppies with their new owners. Whether you are looking for a performance dog or a family companion, I strive to provide the best fit possible.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red and white, sable and white, and brindle and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
