Meet the breeder

I'm Julie B., the breeder behind Petit Bijou located in Iva, SC. We are an in home breeder of quality puppies. With a focus on health, temperament and the betterment of the Biewer Terrier and Russian Salon Dogs. We have a total of 4 Biewer Terriers and 6 Russian Salon Dogs that we use for breeding purposes. They are first and foremost a part of our family and live with us in our home. All of my dogs and puppies are health tested and bred with health, temperament and conformation in mind. Puppies are raised the Puppy Culture way and are whelped inside our home in a designated whelping area in my bedroom. This magnificent breed stole our hearts from the very beginning, and we hope you fall in love with them as much as we have!

Q. & A. with Julie

  • Why did you start breeding?

Having grown up with and around dog breeding, I have seen all that could go wrong as well as the perfect whelps. Knowing what to do and when, especially in high-stress situations, really can make a difference. I love using my years of knowledge and experience in my own program. The fulfillment of seeing new puppies born, watching them grow, and helping shape them and train them in preparation for their new forever homes is the most rewarding experience ever!
  • What makes your program special?

I believe everyone thinks that their breeding program is special. I can say for me that I truly love and enjoy being a pet owner. My interest lies in conformation, sports, breeding, and providing families with the pet of their dreams that best fits them. However, the one thing that I think matters most is to not think you know it all because there is always room for growth and continued learning. I can't wait to connect with you and help you find the joy of a new puppy!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue tan and white and black tan and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

From the very beginning, working with Julie has been an absolute perfect experience. I spent nearly a year researching breeders, and ultimately chose Julie because of her exceptional breeding program, extensive health testing, and the strong pedigrees behind her dogs. It was immediately clear that she holds herself to the highest standards — not just in producing beautiful puppies, but in doing so responsibly and ethically. She stayed in close contact with us for months before pickup, sending detailed updates, photos, and videos that made us feel like we were part of Enzo’s journey from day one. It’s clear how much love and intention she pours into raising her puppies — Enzo came to us happy, healthy, and incredibly well-adjusted. He’s truly exceptional. He potty trained himself within a few minutes of learning where the grass was, slept through the night from the start, and has the sweetest, smartest, most loving temperament. Watching him bond with our other dog has been pure joy, and we can’t imagine our home without him. Even after we brought Enzo home, Julie has remained incredibly supportive — checking in, answering questions, and genuinely caring about how he’s doing. That kind of post-pickup commitment is rare and speaks volumes about her dedication to her puppies and the families they go to. If you’re looking for a Biewer Terrier and want a breeder who goes above and beyond, Julie is the one. She doesn’t just raise puppies — she raises companions, with heart, integrity, and a lifetime of support. We’re beyond grateful.

Petit Bijou Breeder, Julie, made the experience of getting my new puppy so wonderful & seem less. She made me fall in love with my little guy before I even seen him in person by sending tons of pics & videos. Julie is awesome, she was very responsive & always shared anything my puppy was doing new. If you’re looking for a new puppy, Petit Bijou is the way to go. My little Gizmo is adjusting nicely to his forever home & has our entire household wrapped around his little finger.
