Meet the breeder

I'm Susan H., the breeder behind Phoenix Whippets located in Loxahatchee, FL. Our dogs are bred and housed in our home in a family atmosphere. We show our dogs to ensure that we are breeding to the standard and that each generation is producing gorgeous Whippets that are well adjusted, happy, and healthy.

Q. & A. with Susan

  • Why did you start breeding?

We wanted to do our part to better the breed. Our breeding program strives to maintain the unique characteristics of the breed while placing an emphasis on producing Whippets of superior health, temperament, and conformation. My goal is to produce a great representation of the Whippet and to continue improving the line with each generation.
  • What makes your program special?

Our pups all come from health tested parents. We believe that health testing our breeding stock yearly is the best way to ensure healthy pups. Adhering to our club-standard for all recommended health screening tests is essential to achieve this goal. Each pup is cherished from birth and given the best start we can possibly provide.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Susan is wonderful. She was very informative about our puppy and what to expect and made sure we were all set up and ready to welcome her into our home! She bred the perfect dog in our Annie.
