I'm Michelle C., the breeder behind Pigeon Hill Dachshunds located in Massies Mill, VA. We are a small in home breeder that just loves Dachshunds and want to spread the love to others. We are a small, in-home breeding program where we prioritize giving each dog and puppy the best care that we can. We cherish all of our animals and enjoy sharing the love of this breed with other individuals and families!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My daughter started asking for a Dachshund from the time she was like 3 and kept asking until she finally got one for her 7th birthday. We were all in love!! Everyone was asking where did you get your puppy and there was so much attention being given to her I said hey that may be an opportunity I could pursue. So I purchased a male and the rest is history.

  • What makes your program special?

    From the time they are born until they go to their new homes we allow the mothers to stay with them and teach them all the things they need to know to be good pups and we begin teaching them what they need to know to become good pets. Extremely hands on we sit up all night with a whelping mother to ensure the safety of her and her pups. This is not just a job they are our family.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, red, black, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and tan, and black and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Michelle

Michelle has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,300 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes full AKC registration for all eligible puppies. Deposit is non refundable and around 1/4 the price of the puppy. We do not hold puppies without a deposit.”
