Meet the breeder

I'm Lauren M., the breeder behind PNW Labradors located in Rogue River, OR. Our Labrador Retrievers are raised in an indoor environment, ensuring their well-being and providing them with a safe and comfortable space. In order to maintain the highest standards of health and genetic integrity, our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health testing through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) and genetic health testing and clearance through PawPrint Genetics. Additionally, they are certified by the American Kennel Club (AKC). We recognize that not everyone may prefer to adopt a shelter dog or be suitable for a rescue, and we prioritize the ethical breeding of puppies.

Q. & A. with Lauren

  • Why did you start breeding?

The passion and love for dogs have been deeply ingrained in me since my childhood. It all started when I was a young child growing up in a household that had the pleasure of being home to five yellow Labradors. These beautiful creatures quickly became an integral part of my life, and my fondness for them only grew stronger as the years went by. Living with Labradors provided me with countless opportunities to observe their unique personalities, intelligence, and loyalty. I was captivated by their gentle nature, playful demeanor, and unwavering devotion to their human companions. Their presence brought immense joy and comfort to our family, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime. As I grew older, my fascination with Labradors deepened, and I made it a personal mission to learn as much as I could about the breed. I delved into extensive research, exploring various aspects such as their history, characteristics, training techniques, health concerns, and more. This pursuit of knowledge allowed me to gain a comprehensive understanding of Labradors and further fueled my love for them. In addition to my personal connection with Labradors, there is also a sentimental reason behind my continued ownership of this breed. My late Mother shared the same adoration for Labradors as I did. She had an incredible bond with these dogs and always spoke highly of their exceptional qualities. In honor of her memory and the love she had for Labradors, I have carried on the tradition of owning these remarkable dogs.

We seek individuals who will not only offer love and affection but also commit to meeting the physical, emotional, and social needs of their new furry family member. Our dedication to raising healthy dogs is evident in the meticulous attention we pay to their overall well-being. By adhering to these practices, we aim to produce puppies that are not only physically robust but also possess sound temperaments. At PNW Labradors, we understand that responsible breeding involves more than just producing puppies; it entails ensuring that each dog finds a loving home where they can thrive. We take pride in being part of this journey by carefully selecting suitable families who will provide a lifetime of love and care for our puppies.

Lauren was fabulous to work with!! She and her daughter treat the puppies like family members before they come home to their new families. She even generously agreed to meet us in Roseburg, which cut our drive down by 2.5 hours on pick up day!

My experience with Lauren from PNW labradors was amazing! Lauren was responsive and knowledgeable about the breed. You could definitely tell she cared about all her dogs. They stayed in touch and sent me regular updates about my puppy. Good Dog made this process so easy, from the initial connection with Lauren, arranging pick up and securely paying. PNW Labs is amazing and matched me with the most beautiful black lab, Venus. I don’t know how at 8 weeks they knew she was such a sweetheart, but she really is the sweetest lump! Growing way too fast!
