I'm Joan H., the breeder behind Pomeranian Puppies located in Effort, PA. I’m excited to help families experience the welcoming of a puppy into their lives! I raise my dogs in my home right alongside my family. I love being able to match my puppies with families that are perfectly fit for their personalities. I do occasionally offer pet sitting in my home.
Q. & A. with Joan
Why did you start breeding?
I started breeding shelties almost 40 years ago. I retired from breeding and realized how much I missed having puppies around our home. I decided on Pomeranians as they are so beautiful and not as big as the shelties. Both breeds have the same beautiful coat and variety of colors.
What makes your program special?
I only have a few litters a year so all of my adults and puppies get individual attention, and they’re very well socialized with my cats and grandchildren before they leave to their new homes. I’m so proud to say that a few of my Pomeranians have been trained by their owners for therapy dogs and all are doing really well. I currently have one puppy training in Arizona.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include chocolate parti, white, tri-colored, wolf sable, orange sable, blue merle, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
