Porter’s Borders

Shelia P.

Breeder of Border Collies

Meet the breeder

I'm Shelia P., the breeder behind Porter’s Borders located in Webbville, KY. We are committed to always responsibly breeding with the best interest of our puppies’ health and longevity at the forefront. We find so much joy in watching our puppies grow and develop their own unique personalities. We can’t wait for you to meet your next loving and loyal companion!

Q. & A. with Shelia

  • Why did you start breeding?

After working with our female for a few years, we decided we wanted to keep her line going. We finally settled on a male with a cattle dog background to complement our females sheep herding line.
  • What makes your program special?

We have always limited our females to no more than 3 litters. We have no desire to become a backyard breeder using our dogs as a second income. Instead, we prefer quality over quantity. Puppies are highly socialized from birth with exposure to several adults and children, other dogs, cats, chickens and guineas. They travel to the vet, local feed stores, softball games and various other places with us once they have started their vaccinations.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and rough coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
