Lora C.

Breeder of Labrador Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Lora C., the breeder behind Prairie Rose Retrievers located in St. Louis, MO. We are hobby breeders of quality English Labrador Retrievers. With 15+ years experience working in veterinary medicine and a background in dog-breeding, we strive to bring new families the highest quality labs for their homes.

Q. & A. with Lora

  • Why did you start breeding?

Prairie Rose Retrievers was founded in 2015 after our own search for lab puppies had opened our eyes to the difficulty finding a humane breeder who performs appropriate health screenings on its puppies. We felt that with my 15+ years of experience working in veterinary medicine, previous experience dog breeding, and all of the knowledge we had gained in our puppy searches we could answer a very real need for ethical breeding of quality Labrador Retrievers.
  • What makes your program special?

Prairie Rose Retrievers is a proud breeder of quality Labrador Retrievers. We screen hips and elbows through OFA; check for EIC, PRA, and numerous other genetic tests; and are dilute free. Our puppies come with a 26-month health guarantee, and are registered AKC Limited Registration. We stand behind our puppies and are available to answer any questions you may have for the life of your puppy.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
