I'm Jenny J., the breeder behind Precious Tzu Crew located in Spring, TX. All my dogs are spoiled rotten. They have enough toys to last a decade, & have their own playground. Having been introduced to Shih Tzus in 1990, I am dedicated to the breed. I breed for standard size (per AKC 9-16 pounds); rarely do we get one charting 7 or 8 pounds. Most are 10-12 pounds.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    After my Shih Tzu of 17 years passed, I embarked to find another Shih Tzu. I quickly became frustrated by the lack of reputable breeders in my area, lack of quality within the breed, frustration with breeders who charge boutique prices but who do the bare minimum, & breeders with bad attitudes. I want my clients to be happy they got a puppy from me, & restore confidence in working with a breeder.

  • What makes your program special?

    My life revolves around my dogs, their puppies, & meeting their needs socially, mentally, & physically. I have high expectations for my dogs & puppies. We keep our puppies for as long as necessary until we find the perfect pet only home for them, socialize them with our adults, & integrate them with our routine. All applicants must fill out an application & be willing to Zoom with me.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include red and tan, chocolate and tan, chocolate, black and tan, black, liver, blue, gold, red, silver, blue and white, red and white, liver and white, black white and silver, black and white, gold and white, white, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Jenny

Jenny has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Jenny partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“Shih Tzus are a very special breed. Not everyone is cut out for a Shih Tzu. They are a Velcro dog. It will be like living with a toddler for the next 15-18 years, and requires a lot of patience. So it's important to me to make sure potential clients are ready for one, and are aware of the demands. ”

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $900 - $1,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Pet only families. Prices vary according to gender, pigment, markings, & size. Spay/neuter agreement is required. Most puppies chart 10-12 pounds. The AKC standard is 9-16 pounds for Shih Tzus. A non-refundable deposit goes toward your balance, & shows your commitment to purchasing a puppy from me. When a puppy has a deposit on it, that keeps someone else from purchasing the same puppy.”

Jenny may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
