Meet the breeder

I'm Megan D., the breeder behind Prickly Pear Pups located in Venus, TX. We love to raise our puppies inside our home with Puppy Culture. We strive for excellent standard and temperament in our puppies. Through creating an environment of serenity and care for our puppies, we know we are able to give each precious pup the very best chance to reach their potential, express their unique personality, and have a loving, well-rounded temperament. We can't wait to meet you!

Q. & A. with Megan

  • Why did you start breeding?

About 6 years ago we purchased our first (unregistered) Aussie. He quickly became my best friend. We fell in love with him his temperament and personality. We did general research on the breed and met a friend on the way. We started talking and both had a passion and love for this breed so we started a program together. Honestly, if it wasn’t for our joint effort we probably wouldn’t be where we are today in the program!
  • What makes your program special?

Our breeding program stands out amongst others because of the personal attention we give to every detail of the journey. We are dedicated to always providing you with a positive experience, which includes remaining committed to responsible practices when it comes to breeding, training, and rehoming our puppies.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include tiny and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include blue merle, red merle, red, and black. Toy Australian Shepherd puppies include red, black, blue merle, and red merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
