Meet the breeder

I'm Lyndsi & Chris L., the breeder behind Prodigy Farms Therapy Dogs located in Pella, IA. Of all the joys that I have experienced in my life, the companionship of a great dog has simply been one of the greatest! Through our breeding program, I aspire to gift people the delight that comes from sharing life with a remarkable canine companion.

Q. & A. with Lyndsi & Chris

  • Why did you start breeding?

In the years that I spent working as a veterinary technician, I was witness to a multitude of young dogs with extensive health problems that could have been prevented through good breeding practices. A few years later when fate brought me to raising our first litter of puppies, I was hooked. I delighted in the entire process, knowing that I was raising puppies that would lead healthy robust lives with families that adored them.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are all active members of our family. My kids complain that the dogs have more toys than they do, which is true. My dogs are my passion but genetics are my fascination. This combination has been the catalyst to producing dogs with superior health genetics and temperaments. I find much delight in studying the various puppy raising techniques and we implement the most successful methods into our program so our puppies thrive!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, black, brown, cream, red, silver-beige, parti, phantom, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Lyndsi and Chris have blessed us with Kit. Living across the country the worked with us to find the best possible travel route for our pup and gave us recommendations for a smooth transition. They set her up for success with puppy culture and foundational socialization. Our girl fits right in and is already bringing joy to so many. We’ve continued to have their support for any questions as they are very knowledgeable about the breed and about therapy dog training. We would recommend them 100%!

Cobbs is the second standard poodle puppy we’ve welcomed home (in 2yrs) from Prodigy Farms!! The love, dedication, time and energy they pour into each little puppy is amazing! Both of our pups have fantastic temperaments and were given fundamental building blocks from the start making ongoing training such a pleasure. They love their dogs so much and we love them too. Thank you Lyndsi and family. we know you love what you do because it shows in the quality of these beautiful animals.
