I'm Michael A., the breeder behind Pug Happy located in Scottsdale, AZ. Husband and wife who love the pug breed. Were breeders in NJ many years ago; now living in Southwest USA. Raised our kids to adults with plenty of pugs and have rededicated ourselves to being top-rated home based AKC pug breeders since 2024.

Why did you start breeding?
We naturally wanted to raise pugs because we understand and love the breed and know how to raise them the right way. We want to share this love with others who appreciate this brilliant little breed. We have 4 adult pugs and love them so much. We have owned 10 pugs since 1998 and understand how to breed in home in a loving, clean, and professional manner.What makes your program special?
We spend a lot of time with the puppies and the mother throughout the breeding and nurturing process. We know how to ensure the dam pays the proper attention to her pups and we supplement that love, nutrition, and care for those that need a little special attention in the early weeks. Our puppies are potty trained to the paper when they leave our home.Where do your breeding dogs live?

“The price includes the 1 year guarantee, AKC registration, Micro Chip, first round of vaccinations, all relevant deworming through 8 weeks, puppy socialization, potty training and tons of love & care. Deposits nonrefundable but could be rolled forward to future litters. All puppies same price regardless of sex, size, or color.”

He loves seeing and playing with the puppies. He is a good father and cares about the puppies. Definitely an alpha in the household.

Gigi is the sweetest girl we have ever owned in 25 years. She likes to cuddle with her owner and sleeps next to us every night. She is a classic fawn but has white and black in her bloodlines. We think she makes a great mother now and for the next 5=6 years . SHe will be with us her whole life

We couldn’t be more in love with our sweet Tater! He’s the perfect mix of affectionate, clever, playful, and delightfully “talkative”—our little “pugtato” has brought so much joy into our lives. +6Michael was amazing to work with. I reached out regarding the last pug available and less than an hour he reached out to us. He gave his phone number and said we could go and see the pup that day. My fiancé and I lost our dogs in 2024 so this was going to be our first time owing a dog together. We immediately fell in love with the little guy and took him home that night. We named him and he really has been amazing. He came knowing how to sit and use the pee pads which has helped us tremendously living in an apartment. It’s only been 2 weeks now since we got him on the 9th and it has flown by. Should we ever want a second pug we will definitely be looking out for future litters. The pups were so well taken care of inside the home and his wife was extremely knowledgeable on the puppies and all of their other pugs were so cute to be around. We really had a smooth experience and I’m thankful for how well they were cared for.

Working with Michael and Hoa was amazing. They care deeply about their pugs. I knew adopting a puppy from them was the right decision after hearing their story and passion for their doggies and for responsible breeding. They really set us up on the right path when it was time to bring our Max home. Hoa put together a sweet care package that included a mini lambie stuffy (Max’s favorite!). If I can convince the husband to add more pugs to our family I will absolutely work with Michael and Hoa again. Highly recommend!

+5Michael and Hoa were incredible to work with during this entire process. I have worked with breeders and have adopted dogs from shelters and by far, this family was the most knowledgeable and caring about their puppies. They respect their parent dogs and love them all so much. You can tell how caring their hearts are especially when you visit the litter and pick up your puppy in person. Willow was sent home with an amazingly generous care package and I’ve been keeping the breeders updated on her adjustment to my home. I would highly recommend getting your next ball of fur from Michael and Hoa. 5+ stars!
