Meet the breeder

I'm Caleb & Kathleen R., the breeder behind PuppyLove Dachshunds located in Wakarusa, IN. We offer a lifetime of support, advice, and friendship when you adopt a PuppyLove dachshund baby. Cared for and loved by our family, you will find that our puppies are happy and outgoing, eager to please and very easy to train. Bred for confirmation, personality, and health, you'll see what makes a PuppyLove Dachshund shine. Our puppies are enrolled in the AKC puppy protection program which includes their microchip and limited AKC registration.

Q. & A. with Caleb & Kathleen

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our story begins when I was an eleven year old farm girl. My dad helped me adopt my first dachshund, a spunky little red girl. She is the reason I fell in love with the breed that’s “half a dog high and a dog and a half long!" Fast forward a few years, and I was smitten with my first doxie litter. You could call it love at first sight! When we married, Caleb joked that he didn't only marry Kathleen, he also married the dachshund! Together, we have found our passion in raising puppies and connecting them to their forever families across the United States.
  • What makes your program special?

We offer a 100% two week health guarantee and a one year genetic health guarantee with each puppy, leaving you with the satisfaction of knowing you are adopting a healthy new family member. Age appropriate vaccines are kept up-to-date and each puppy is examined by our vet before leaving our home. Above all else, by adopting one of our babies, you will have a lifetime of support and friendship from the PuppyLove family.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include piebald, cream, black, chocolate, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

From the very beginning, Caleb and Kathleen made us feel confident and supported. Their communication was outstanding, the adoption process was seamless, and they were so flexible and accommodating when it came time to picking up our pup. Even now, they continue to check in and welcome questions and updates. It’s clear they truly care about their dogs and the families they go to. Our beautiful girl has been a blessing to us during a rather hard time in our lives- she never fails to make us smile with her playful and loving attitude.
