I'm Shawna W., the breeder behind Pure Joy Dachshunds located in Eldon, MO. We are pet owners first and foremost. All of our puppies are raised as members of our family until they’re ready to join yours. Our love for our dogs pushed us to begin breeding. We love to see the results of our efforts in the sweet, happy, and healthy puppies that we’re able to share with others!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I have had dachshunds my entire life. My dad had dachshunds when he was a child and shared his love of the breed with me. With that, it led me to want to better the breed and share the love with others. Our adventure started in 2008.

  • What makes your program special?

    Here at Pure Joy Dachshunds quality is our highest concern. We want to provide families with quality temperment and structure of the dachshund breed. Our dogs and puppies are well socialized with people of all ages. Our puppies are handled from the whelping process on. Our dogs live in our home with us. They are family! We have amazing lines coming from Russian imports.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include cream, brindle, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Shawna

Shawna has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $900 - $2,200 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“This price includes health guarantee, AKC registration, first shots, health check, and dewormings. A non-refundable deposit must be placed to hold your puppy. This deposit is applied to the total price of the puppy.”

Contract & health guarantee

Shawna may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Shawna was the best, she kept me up to date on Cosmo's progress and sent me photos weekly, she was so thoughtful from start to finish. I flew all the way from San Diego, California to Missouri for this little guy and was very nervous about flying him back, but he did so well and we had everything we needed thanks to Shawna for being so prepared.
