Pure Poodles by the Chesapeake Bay

Laura L.

Breeder of Poodles

Meet the breeder

I'm Laura L., the breeder behind Pure Poodles by the Chesapeake Bay located in Virginia. All of our dogs are loved as family members. We cherish our puppies from birth up until they leave our arms to snuggle into yours! We raise our dogs in our home right alongside our family. We love being able to match our puppies with families that are the perfect fit for their personalities.

Q. & A. with Laura

  • Why did you start breeding?

We fell in love with poodles after the discovery of my daughter's allergies to other breeds. Prior to this, we had no idea how awesome these dogs were/are! They're not the prissy little things you see in the movies. We love our poodles very much and enjoy their sweetness, intelligence, and loyal nature. They are fun to hike and swim with and we will never have another breed :)
  • What makes your program special?

We have seen first hand what a high-end puppymill looks like and it was alarming. We are committed to staying small, only raising puppies from well-planned litters in our home. We do not have "guardian" homes. Our ladies are our pets. Our puppies receive daily attention and ENS practices to help make them well rounded family members when going to their new homes.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include apricot, cream, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
