I'm Lauren A., the breeder behind Pure Pugs located in Hanover, VA. Our family is overjoyed to be breeding our favorite small breed—pugs. The journey began when I got my first pug, Jeb, at 24 years old. He was my heart dog, full of love and personality. Sadly, Jeb was born with a congenital heart defect and underwent two heart surgeries before passing away from a heart condition. His loss was devastating, and I vowed never to own another pug. Years later, my children encouraged me to open my heart again, and that’s when Frank came into our lives. Frank was the perfect addition—loving, healthy, and full of charm. He reignited our passion for the breed and inspired our family to begin breeding pugs with one clear goal: to provide happy and healthy companions to other families, so they never have to experience the heartbreak we did with Jeb. With over 20 years of experience breeding dogs, we are committed to raising pugs that are not only adorable but also well-socialized, healthy, and ready to bring joy to your home. Our breeding program is built on love, care, and a deep respect for the breed.

We picked out some toys for them today along with a bed for when they get a little older. I think I am just dreaming of fall as it has been such a hot summer. They are 1 week old and have grown so fast this week. Hope is always with them being forced out on bathroom breaks. We have one little male Carl available. He is the smallest of the boys and also the darkest fawn. The fawns will continue to lighten up as they grow.

Lauren was a joy to work with! She was kind and communicative through the whole process of bringing home our new baby Cujo Scooby Doo. She set us up with a great transport in Waggin’ Wheels as well! Lauren sent photos and videos to keep us updated on his growth, and I saw how much she and her family love their pugs. We plan on keeping in touch with her so she can see him grow! Highly recommend Lauren and Pure Pugs as a reliable breeder.

Lauren was amazing to work with. We lost our pug Bernie this winter and lucked into finding her on good dog. From our first conversation she was so friendly and helpful and hooked us up with our new buddy Vinny.

Lauren was absolutely incredible in the process of us getting our first pug. She was available for any questions we needed and we really appreciated her warm and caring personality throughout this entire thing. Farley is SUCH A GOOD PUPPY! We feel so lucky to have him. Have already recommended her to people who stop and ask about him and recommend her to anyone looking on GoodDog for beautiful quality pugs.
