I'm Lauren A., the breeder behind Pure Pugs located in Hanover, VA. Our family is overjoyed to be breeding our favorite small breed—pugs. The journey began when I got my first pug, Jeb, at 24 years old. He was my heart dog, full of love and personality. Sadly, Jeb was born with a congenital heart defect and underwent two heart surgeries before passing away from a heart condition. His loss was devastating, and I vowed never to own another pug. Years later, my children encouraged me to open my heart again, and that’s when Frank came into our lives. Frank was the perfect addition—loving, healthy, and full of charm. He reignited our passion for the breed and inspired our family to begin breeding pugs with one clear goal: to provide happy and healthy companions to other families, so they never have to experience the heartbreak we did with Jeb. With over 20 years of experience breeding dogs, we are committed to raising pugs that are not only adorable but also well-socialized, healthy, and ready to bring joy to your home. Our breeding program is built on love, care, and a deep respect for the breed.

Lauren was awesome with updates and you can tell she cares a lot about the dogs. She met me in RVA super close to where I live which was super convenient. Our new puppy Floki is so cute and sweet and cuddly. We are very happy with him!

If you are looking for a healthy, happy pug puppy from a great breeder who cares about her pups, you've come to the right place. The moment I found her and saw the puppy I wanted, I reached out and she wasted no time getting back to me. After having filled out the application and paying deposit to reserve my little boy, she would sent updated videos and pictures. She met me halfway when it was time to pick him. The process really could not have gone more smoothly. My puppy (Gene) is so happy and healthy and full of love. I don't know who is attached to who more. Thank you, Lauren, for bringing such happiness to my heart.

We recently purchased a Pug from Lauren and we couldn’t be more thrilled! From the moment we brought our little one home, it was clear they were well cared for and socialized. Our Pug, Myrtle is healthy, playful, and full of personality — everything we hoped for and more. Lauren was professional, responsive, and clearly passionate about her dogs. She provided us with pictures and videos as our puppy grew, helping us to feel like we were there. She then provided all the necessary information, health records, and tips to make the transition smooth. It’s obvious she takes great pride in raising happy, healthy pups. We’ve already fallen completely in love with our new family member. If you’re looking for a wonderful, loving Pug, we highly recommend Lauren!
