I'm Denny & Paula N., the breeder behind R and B Aussies located in California, KY. We are pet owners first and foremost. All of our puppies are raised as members of our family until they’re ready to join yours. We are a retired couple who fell in love with the standard Australian Shepherd breed later in life. We are striving for optimum health, intelligence, and even temperament in our breeding program. Our two grandchildren assist in the care and socialization of our dogs.
Q. & A. with Denny & Paula
Why did you start breeding?
We have 2 friends that are breeders of the Australian Shepherd, standard and mini here locally in Kentucky. We have the time and resources to have a few litters. Our grandkids absolutely loved when we would bring a new puppy home. We now have our first litter of puppies and they are with them almost everyday. Kids and puppies just seem to go together with the love they share.
What makes your program special?
We purchased all of our dogs as puppies from reputable breeders. We know how they were raised and the care that was involved in doing so. We think we have a good balance of traits for the breed. We have had genetic testing on all of our dogs to make sure puppies will be healthy and strong. If our first litter is any indication we are on the right track.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
