Meet the breeder

I'm Ashley O., the breeder behind R3 Sport Dogs (R3 Goldens/ R3 Border Collies) located in Lodi, CA. We’re proud of the healthy, affectionate, and behaviorally well-rounded puppies we raise for other families to love! We focus on the proper development of all our puppies because we know that each one is unique and deserving of undivided love and attention. Each puppy is bred, raised, and loved indoors to ensure health, happiness, and harmony at the start of its life. With our pups, beauty is a given, but producing healthy, loving, and versatile dogs is our true goal.

Q. & A. with Ashley

  • Why did you start breeding?

Growing up, we had rescue dogs that developed many health and temperament challenges. Later, our first Golden from a breeder also struggled with several issues. That experience sparked years of research into genetics, health, structure, and responsible breeding—and ultimately inspired me to build a program focused on improving each generation.
  • What makes your program special?

Our goal is to produce sound, versatile dogs with excellent breed type, temperament, health, structure, and drive. I fell in love with conformation and sporting events, but believe a great dog should be more than one thing. We strive for dogs capable of stepping into the show ring, working on the ranch, competing in sports, or simply being an incredible family companion.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Border Collie puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Golden Retriever puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Border Collie puppies include atypical merle, chocolate, tri-color, gold merle, brindle merle, slate merle, lilac merle, black and white, blue merle, red merle, black, blue, brindle, gold, lilac, red, sable, sable merle, saddleback sable, white and blue, white and blue merle, white and red, white and red merle, white ticked, seal, slate, white and gold, and white and seal. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

As first time pet owners, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Ashley was very easy to work with, and answered all our questions promptly. It is obvious a lot of care has gone into raising the pups and feels like Ashley gave us a head start. Our puppy is so smart, in great health, and brings a lot of joy to the family. We'd gladly recommend R3 Goldens to anyone looking to add a loving smart pup to their family.

We had an amazing experience with R3 Goldens and couldn’t be happier with our puppy, Willow. She came home healthy, happy, confident, and clearly very well cared for. Ashley was absolutely wonderful throughout the entire process. She was incredibly informative, communicative, and easy to work with from start to finish. She answered our questions, kept us updated, and made the whole experience feel comfortable and exciting. It’s obvious how much care and attention goes into these puppies.
