Q. & A. with Raina
Why did you start breeding?
After excelling in the local 4-H program with her rescue Spaniels at 8 years old, Raina was eager for her first AKC show dog. In 2008, we fell in love with the Clumber Spaniel Breed and brought home our first Clumber, Betty. Raina showed Betty to her AKC Championship and Grand Championship titles, and then we completed all health testing and welcomed our first litter of Rainsway Clumbers in 2012.
What makes your program special?
We have had a Clumber in the American Kennel Club Top 5 standings since 2013, a Best in Show winner, multiple Sporting Group winners, and multiple Specialty & National Specialty winners. Outside the show ring, we have a huge emphasis on health, temperament, improving and preserving this rare breed, and producing overall predictable family companions.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
