I'm Melissa F., the breeder behind Rainy Lake Labrador Retrievers located in International Falls, MN. The dogs I have selected to breed have been selected for their good health and temperament. I want to be sure to be providing people with healthy, happy, smart, good natured puppies that will make their lives complete. I also enjoy offering a full spectrum of colors without compromising the health and temperament of the puppies.

Why did you start breeding?
With my (now retired) lab Mattea and a friend's lab. Mattea came from excellent bloodlines and good health genetics, as did her male. Mattea and her dog were also very well mannered and smart. My search for a good, well bred puppy had been a long one with Mattea and I felt I was filling a void that needed filling in my area, which was providing healthy quality puppies to people.What makes your program special?
The time I put into raising my puppies. I try to jump as many hurdles that new puppy owners finds themselves facing as I can before the puppies go to their new owners, as I do not want to see my puppies rehomed. My goal is a successful fur-ever home.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Labrador Retriever puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Dilute Retriever puppies are silver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
