I'm Randal H., the breeder behind Randal'sDachshunds located in Colony, KS. I retired in 2025 and had always wanted to breed my bird dogs, then I got my first dacshund, who doesn't want a lapdog who thinks you hung the moon. Our dogs are all part of the family and we want to share the breed with others.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I always wanted to breed dogs. I was working with someone who was breeding the dacshunds and began my journey at the end of 2024 with one of his females and a male we found on Gooddog. Added another girl from him and later another female through Gooddog.

  • What makes your program special?

    We carefully selected a variety of colors, long and short hair, so far we are not disappointed.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, brindle, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Randal

Randal has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Randal partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 refundable deposit and between $1,300 - $3,200 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Contract & health guarantee

Randal may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     We had lost both of our 15 year old chi-weenies in 2025 and were finally ready to fill our laps again. We wanted to adopt, but that turned out to be a tricky process with timing and getting a response each time we reached out. We knew we wanted dachshunds after 15 years with our previous babies. I spent about 3 days non-stop on Good Dog and it was a very emotional experience. I kept going back to the sweet babies that Randal needed good homes for. Why I chose Randal: - communication was excellent. He responded quickly and answered all of our questions. We had not done this process before and he made me feel very comfortable and never like he was trying to sell me a dog. - His pictures. They were not professionally shot puppy glamour shots or profile photo. The candid profile picture of an innocent puppy asleep on his chest and individual photos of the puppies on blankets in their home caught my attention. That is exactly how our new puppies would be raised in our home and it appeared that’s how their life started as well. - we had to wait two weeks before our two girls could be picked up. Randal sent me updated photos 3 days after we decided to work with him, unsolicited. It made our entire day to start off with “ I thought you might want to see an updated photo of your puppies today”. He also provided several updates throughout those two weeks. - Randal was 10 hours away from us and offered to meet us halfway bright and early in the morning to accommodate our schedule. - upon meeting Randal early that morning with our sweet sisters, each puppy had a bag with a toy, some food, all veterinary paperwork etc., and a blanket with moms scent to help with the transition. Randal was not the least expensive, closest to our location and had zero reviews. I would choose to work with Randal without question if I had to do it again tomorrow.
