Meet the breeder

I'm Sydney C., the breeder behind Red Door Canines located in Rose Hill, NC. Red Door Canines is committed to breeding top quality doodles through health testing, temperament testing, intelligence, coat, and color. Our mission is to raise well-rounded, stable, reliable puppies. We do this by teaching them 3 Key Principles that we feel all puppies deserve to know: 1. The World Is Safe, 2. People Are Kind, 3. Dogs Are Friendly. We hope that you will open your heart and home to one of our extraordinary puppies.

Q. & A. with Sydney

  • Why did you start breeding?

Shelley and her husband have been married for 26 years and bought our first puppy together a few months before we wed. Unfortunately, it was a total disaster of a situation! After several other disappointing pet experiences, we were introduced to doodles. This opened our eyes to how exceptional dogs can be. After nearly 2 years of research, we adopted our first Goldendoodle, Lucy. Sydney began breeding alongside Shelley in 2020 after she finished up her Masters. Her and her husband Tyler wanted to start a family and she wanted to be able to work from home and still raise her babies.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs, and puppies are raised in our home and all of our breeding dogs are family pets. "The Puppy Palace" is outfitted with cameras, an individual whelping area, and around-the-clock staff. It is our goal to guide, shape and mold our puppies during critical developmental periods. We are constantly evaluating and adjusting our curriculum to help build confidence, nerve strength and startle recovery. All of our puppies are treated and raised as though they will become one of our own family pets. Our puppies are raised to have the right temperament, intelligence, and aptitude to be an exceptional pet, and the fact that they are unbelievably adorable is the icing on the cake! We perform careful puppy evaluations to ensure you get the "type" of the puppy you need and want. We believe wholeheartedly in the power of a dog and in the innate ability, our dogs have to heal hearts and change lives.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Goldendoodle puppies include miniature, medium, and standard sizes. Bernedoodle puppies include mini, medium, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Goldendoodle puppies include red, chocolate, black, merle, and parti. Bernedoodle puppies include brown, red, sable, black and white, tri-color, phantom, and merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
