Meet the breeder

I'm Lorie S., the breeder behind Remington Kennels, LLC located in Lookout, CA. From the moment our pups are born, they’re handled on purpose, with a purpose. Our little “LollyPop’s Farm” is in the mountains of far northeast California. Growing our little farm and breeding program, producing quality pups: well rounded, responsibly bred pups to love forever.

Q. & A. with Lorie

  • Why did you start breeding?

As a service dog handler, knowing the costs involved in obtaining and training a dog, I decided to start a breeding program with the goal of eventually breeding, training and donating service dogs. I donate every litter but until October 2022, I hadn’t the knowledge to train. I am still learning and each and every pup gets me closer to my goal of training and donating service dogs. I do offer basic training packages now, and hope to train service dogs for others one day soon… with enough practice, work and dedication.
  • What makes your program special?

I breed for intelligence and the temperament of the dog. I breed for trainability because I know a wild untrainable dog is a horrible experience. My goal is to provide a quality pup for you to love you forever and to love you for his or her life. My pups are raised in my home and I love what I do! Our puppies are using a potty tray by 4 weeks. They go home almost completely house trained. We do offer basic training packages to help with the stress and work of owning a new puppy. Reach out for details!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Aussiedoodle puppies are mini size. Bernedoodle puppies are standard size. Double Doodle puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Aussiedoodle puppies include apricot, blue merle, red merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Bernedoodle puppies include brown and white, black and white, tri-color, phantom, blue merle, and merle. Double Doodle puppies include cream, brindle, brown, chocolate, apricot, yellow, parti, and black. Saint Berdoodle puppies include merle, white and red, brindle and white, rust and white, orange and white, mahogany and white, white and brown, and brown and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We had a wonderful experience with Lorie. She was quick to communicate, followed up consistently, and made the entire process smooth and reassuring. Our puppy is absolutely gorgeous and such a perfect fit for our family. We couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a well-bred, loved puppy. Moose has already brought so much joy to our home. 🐾

I am so impressed with Lorie. From our first talks to our hand off she was so knowledgeable and professional. We adopted our sweet boy from her and she was very patient, helping us choose which puppy is the right match for us. Our Standard F1b bernedoodle melted in my arms and is an absolute dream. The puppies are obviously very well loved in Lorie's care and very accustomed to human touch and affection. I would highly recommend Remington Kennels to anyone looking for a premier dog breeder. Our puppy is our second F1b, and I believe Lorie's breeding program to be among the best in Northern California. She even gave us a bag of supplies and a Halloween costume! Nothing could have been better about our experience.

Lorie was fantastic. She was quick to respond to my questions, was happy to jump on a call to show me the dog I was considering and to discuss her temperament, and provided DNA testing to screen the parents for health checks. Lorie took great care of her puppies and was clearly a loving breeder! She even went as far to personalize a care package for my dog with hand made accessories! Lexi is doing incredible and I couldn't be happier with her and the service provided. I wouldn't hesitate to strongly recommend connecting with Lorie!

On May 25th of this year, I picked up Cashew in Medford, OR. On the drive back to Portland, I stopped at the Alton Baker Dog park in Eugene in order to break up the drive and let Cashew out to run and play. While walking Cashew to the dog park, he got spooked by a loud noise made by a car and slipped his leash. That moment started some of the longest 4 days of my life. I notified Lori of the situation and she immediately, the day I spoke with her, hopped in her car with her dear friend and Cashews' mate and drove from Norther California to Eugene and started to search for Cashew while I had work-related responsibilities in Portland. I truly believe I would not have Cashew today without her efforts. Cashew made it approximately 7.5 miles north in 4 days, including swimming in the Willamette River the first day when random people and I were searching for him. People reported seeing him in the river and I chased him into the river myself, jumping in after him in my clothes and shoes. I will never forget when I jumped after him after spotting him near the edge of the river. Once I was in the river, he got out and ran by me and looked at me while I was managing the river. I will never forget the image of him running right by me on land while I was in the river. I almost had him! The first day, myself and various strangers looked for him until night fell. I drove back to Eugene that night and called in from work the next day to search for him a second day later leaving Eugene the second day with no Cashew. Next time I returned to Eugene would be to pick up Cashew from Lori. Cashew was found in a person's backyard who called the local animal shelter once they saw a random dog standing in their backyard. We think he heard the sound of their kids and hopped into their backyard. I will never forget the excitement I felt when I was able to call Lori and tell her we got him! Cashew update — He is doing great! I work at a Skilled Nursing Facility, and I bring him to work with me once a week. He is a little sked Ish around new people if they approach him fast and excited, but he warms up to everyone very quickly and is an absolute sweet hear 24/7. He does great on walks and only whimpers a bit when seeing other dogs, and he has a dog walker that comes and walk him once a week while I'm at work, He runs around 3 miles with me one to two times a week, and we walk two times a day for the most part regularly. He does great at the Dog park as well. He is my shadow at all times, lying at my feet right now as I write this. So thankful for Lori. Cashew is a special Dog. The picture of him standing in a backyard below is the picture the person took when they found him in their backyard and the photo the shelter sent me in order to identify him.

Excellent experience with Lori. Great communication, healthy, happy puppy and fair pricing. My Remington is turning two soon and he is quite the handsome devil. He’s around 100 lbs and moderately tall.

We recently brought home our Bernedoodle puppy, Ollie, from Lorie at Remington Kennels—and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the entire experience! From our very first conversation, it was clear how much love and intention Lorie pours into raising her puppies. She was warm, patient, and incredibly responsive—answering every question and sending regular photos, videos, and thoughtful updates that made us feel confident and cared for throughout the process. She even shared insights into the parents’ temperaments, which gave us so much peace of mind. When it was time to bring Ollie home, Lorie prepared the most thoughtful take-home bag, filled with everything we needed to make the long drive (and transition) easier. Ollie has been an absolute joy—sweet, playful, gentle with kids, and full of personality. It’s clear he came from a home where he was deeply loved and well socialized. We feel so lucky to have found Lorie and are beyond grateful she trusted us with one of her puppies. I’d recommend Remington Kennels to anyone looking for a healthy, happy pup raised with heart! Thanks Lorie - we are so lucky to have met you!
