I'm Meghen B., the breeder behind Renascent Welsh Springer Spaniels located in Georgia. With over 40 years of experience in the breed this breed is a passion for us. While we have bred and owned numerous Best in Show and Westminster Kennel Club winners (previously under the Statesman prefix) we breed each litter with the goal of producing healthy and happy dogs to be part of families.

    I have traveled the world to incorporate quality dogs into my breeding program. This has helped to solidify health and temperament in the breed in the USA.

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Parent health testing

Renascent Welsh Springer Spaniels reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Welsh Springer Spaniels.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
