Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding through my lifelong passion for dogs and years of hands-on experience in training and canine care. After spending years studying dog behavior, health, nutrition, and professional training through STSK9, I developed a strong appreciation for purposeful breeding and stable temperaments. My goal is to produce healthy, intelligent, well-rounded dogs that can thrive as loyal companions, working dogs, and family protectors.What makes your program special?
What makes my program special is the focus on temperament, health, structure, and purpose. Every dog in my program is raised with hands-on care, early socialization, and a strong foundation built around stability, intelligence, and companionship. I believe in producing well-rounded dogs that are not only beautiful, but capable of excelling as loyal family companions, service prospects, and working partners.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
Getting a puppy from Lena

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Lena partners with them to find the best puppy match.
“Puppy Matching Policy At Resilient Roots Canine, we carefully evaluate each puppy’s temperament, energy level, confidence, drive, and personality before placement. Our goal is to ensure every puppy is matched with the best possible home based on lifestyle, experience, family dynamic, and intended purpose. While we welcome preferences for gender, color, and markings, final puppy selection is made in the best interest of both the puppy and the family. This helps ensure long-term success whether the puppy is intended for companionship, service work, sport, or an active family home. Puppies are matched in the order deposits are received once temperament evaluations are completed. We reserve the right to deny placement if we believe a home uuis not the right fit for a puppy’s needs. ”

Parent health testing
Good level
Resilient Roots k9’s reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Shepherds.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
