Meet the breeder

I'm Kim E., the breeder behind Retrievers of Millbach located in Newmanstown, PA. We provide family-oriented puppies with careful consideration of health, socialization, and longevity. We truly love our Labs! We perform all recommended health clearances and DNA profiles so that we can assure our families that they are bringing the healthiest puppies possible into their family. We take pride in our program and look forward to connecting with you! I specialize in AKC Fox Red Yellow, Chocolate and Black Labrador Retrievers. All of Labradors have/will have their OFA hip, elbow, eye and heart certifications as well as their DNA health screens. I strive for my Labradors to obtain their AKC CHIC certifications.

Q. & A. with Kim

  • Why did you start breeding?

We wanted to do our part to better the breed. Our breeding program strives to maintain the unique characteristics of the Labrador Retriever while placing an emphasis on producing puppies of superior health, temperament, and conformation. It is such an honor to preserve the line of these incredible dogs all the while creating companionship for others.
  • What makes your program special?

Our program is special because of our dogs. Labrador Retrievers are such a joy, and we find so much fulfillment in raising and preparing them for their loving, forever homes. We are very selective about our breeding dogs. All of our dogs are fully healthy and genetically tested. The health and temperament of our puppies are our number one priority. We love what we do and truly want the very best for our puppies and their forever families.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

From the moment we began working with Kim, I could tell she was a wonderful person with a commitment to all of her dogs and puppies. I contacted her about our puppy and she immediately offered to FaceTime us so we could meet him! She was so friendly and personable, and answered all our questions. During the time we had to wait to meet him in person, she sent puppy updates (pupdates!) and photos as he grew. When we had the opportunity to visit him in person (2 weeks prior to him coming home with us), we had a very enjoyable visit spending time with her and another couple that was there to visit their pup. She is extremely knowledgeable about the breed, takes great care of all her dogs & offers a lot of great advice for new puppy parents. It was like a dream come true picking up our beautiful, perfect little black lab puppy (Dudley!) and we couldn't be happier. Kim provided us with a comprehensive folder that has been making his veterinarian visits a breeze, and getting to know him every day has been a dream. Kim, thank you for all that you do and for the kindness you show both people and animals! We love our newest family member and feel so grateful that we get to spend every day with our sweet boy!!

Kim is a knowledgeable, professional breeder. She was attentive to my questions and was prompt and complete with her answers. I drove to Pennsylvania from Massachusetts. The pickup was trouble free.

Kim was amazing to work with. We were a little nervous traveling four hours away to choose a puppy, but Kim was wonderful and actually FaceTimed us so that we could see the puppies. She was extremely knowledgeable about labradors and shared her philosophy on raising puppies. We immediately felt comfortable with her and could tell that she was sincere and truly adored all of her puppies. When we arrived to choose our puppy, we were very fortunate to have met the mom and dad of the litter. This was such an incredible opportunity to see how they interacted with one another. The whole experience from beginning to end was seamless, exciting, professional and rewarding. We would highly recommend Kim!! Our puppy has been a dream come true! Thank you Kim!!
