I'm Ramona and Guillermo Z., the breeder behind RGZ Doxies located in Chicago, IL. We cherish each of our dogs and puppies so we do our best to ensure they have the right start. This includes choosing healthy parents with good temperaments, socialization, daily care & placing them in loving homes. We strive to provide each of our puppy families with a truly positive experience!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We have purchased dogs that were expensive & had health issues or poor temperament. I wanted to do a better job and provide healthy animals that had the correct temperament for the breed. It’s so heart breaking to get a pet snd have never ending problems so I want to do my best to prevent those issues. Plus, I love dogs and enjoy being around them!

  • What makes your program special?

    We do everything we can to ensure our puppies have what they need to develop into healthy and happy dogs. We are very dedicated to what we do and what we are trying to achieve as breeders. We work with passion, heart, integrity, and truly want what's best for our Dachshunds.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include red, chocolate and tan, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Ramona and Guillermo

Ramona and Guillermo has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Ramona and Guillermo partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $400 non-refundable deposit and between $1,800 - $2,100 final payment, before taxes & fees.
Pay over time with Klarna.

“The price includes AKC limited (full registration is available at our discretion and a higher price) and a one year guarantee. Puppies are microchipped, vet checked, utd on vaccines and deworming. Holding fee reserves your puppy until time to go home and deposit is deducted from total price. Holding fees are non-refundable.”

Ramona and Guillermo may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • PRA, Cone-Rod Dystrophy 1 (PRA-crd1)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Ramona & Guillermo are AWESOME to work with. Great 100/10 communication. Very informative and attentive. They give weekly updates and photos of your puppies growing and progress. They make it safe and comfortable for any and all questions you have and are quick on responding. they send you home with information on feeding, a take home bag full of goodies and first time essentials.     If you're looking for a breeder who truly cares about their puppies and the families they go to, look no further! From the very first conversation, Ramona was incredibly thoughtful, patient, and answered every single question I had — no matter how big or small. When I brought my Hemingway home, I was blown away by how well-prepared they had him. He was already well on his way with potty training, which made the transition so much smoother for both of us. They also sent him home with the most thoughtful care package — a month's worth of food, toys, all of his documentation, and helpful pamphlets to get us started on the right foot. What really sets them apart though? It's been two months and they are STILL just as responsive and helpful as they were on day one. Any concern that pops up, she's right there to help. That kind of continued support and dedication is rare and means the world to a new pet parent. Hemingway is thriving and I couldn't be happier.     Ramona and Guillermo were fantastic to work with! We got updated pictures every week and Ramona was willing to answer any questions we had leading up to pick up day. They also prepared us with lots of stuff to take our puppy home. Even after pick up day, she has been responsive to any questions we have had! They are great!
