Marissa C.

Breeder of Dachshunds

Meet the breeder

I'm Marissa C., the breeder behind Rissas CrAz Critters located in Canton, OH. Dachshunds have always been on my list of favorite small dog breeds. When I decided they were the pup for me, I dove in. Our pack lives the origin dachshund life. We cull the rabbits they hunt up and make the kids rabbit stew. We enjoy Barn hunts, fast cat, dachshund races and other AKC events.

Q. & A. with Marissa

  • Why did you start breeding?

I always knew I wanted to do something with animals and once I found my love for dachshunds, it was the path I had been looking for. I wanted a herd! I decided I also wanted to build a family that loved them as much as I do, so I decided to breed. I wanted a program that produced well rounded pups. Stable temperaments and sound structure. The perfect versatile pups ready for all walks of life.
  • What makes your program special?

We use dachshunds for their original purpose. HUNTING! They have a high prey drive and love finding the rodents. Our pups have titled in Barn Hunts, Fast Cat, Trick Dog and theyve won a good amount of annual Dachshund Races. Our kids love camping and a long day of paddle boarding. They've traveled outside of the country on family adventures as well as all over the USA. We live for our fur kids.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream, red, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and tan, and black and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Marissa

Marissa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $700 - $1,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Prices do very. First time moms are priced lower. Our pups engage in AKC events. The more titles Mom receives will increase litter price. Creams are priced higher due to the market. Our deposit price is set higher to deter non-serious families. They are non-refundable but we know live can throw you for a loop so we will move a deposit to a future litter.”

Contract & health guarantee

Marissa may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
