I'm Charlie G., the breeder behind River City Doxies located in Memphis, TN. River City Dachshunds is a small in home dachshund breeder; certified AKC & CKC purebred miniature dachshunds. Our genetic based program's main goal is to 'better the breed". Our puppies are bred for their health and longevity, structure and disposition. Our dogs are genetic tested and registered with AKC or CKC. We specialize in longhair, smooth, and silky wire haired pups. Find the Love of Your Life!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I’ve always loved animals, especially dogs. I grew up with Miniature Schnauzers & originally began breeding them. Once I adopted a Dachshund, I realized I found the love of my life & naturally transitioned to breeding Dachshunds. They are loving, spunky, loyal, & the BEST snuggle bugs!

  • What makes your program special?

    Each of our dachshunds are first our and foremost our pets and family. All our dogs are raised inside our home. All breeding parents are AKC/CKC registered and genetic tested. We have multiple yards with various landscapes for our doxies to enjoy. Puppies are raised indoors and begin life in our dedicated nursery. After a few weeks, they transition to a play pen & free run time in safe spaces.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include wirehaired, smooth, and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include sable, piebald, cream, red, black, black and cream, chocolate and cream, chocolate and tan, blue and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $500 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
