Meet the breeder

I'm Merielle S., the breeder behind River Ridge Labrador Retrievers located in Woodstock, GA. We love to responsibly raise and train our puppies so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. The loyalty and loving disposition of this breed are simply the best! We put a great deal of effort into raising our litters to ensure our puppy families will have the best experience raising their new family members.

Q. & A. with Merielle

  • Why did you start breeding?

Breeding is a family affair. We all help. The pups take over the kitchen for about 8-10 weeks. They are part of the family. As a child, my Dad showed dogs in conformation and obedience. We all went along to the shows and he taught us about grooming. We always had a dog. Once we had a home and fenced yard, I looked into breeding as hobby. Lilly was my researched girl for pedigree. She is a calm loving girl and is a great mama.
  • What makes your program special?

As I mentioned, we only breed one litter a year in a family setting, my kitchen and back yard. I breed for temperament and potential service dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and chocolate. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Merielle was wonderful to work with. We received updates regularly and she’s passionate about finding the right pup for your family. We chose a black male lab, Remi has been the best little boy and has adjusted so well. We couldn’t be happier with the whole process. Thanks again!

After finding Merielle from River Ridge Labrador Retrievers on the Good Dog website. We contacted her by email, she replied to us and we set up a call to talk about the litter she had for sell. She was very honest with us on the phone call asking us what we were looking for in a Lab. We arranged a meeting date to look at the puppies at her home. We traveled to her beautiful home to be introduced to the puppies and see which one bonded to us the best. Merielle and her family "REALLY" care for these puppies, and you could tell by the health of all 13. Merielle is a fountain of Lab knowledge and it was just amazing to listen to her talk so passionately about her litter of puppies. She took the time talk to everyone there that was looking at their next family member. On the day we picked up our new family member we were greeted with a joyful smile by Merielle and her dogs at the door. She had all the paperwork in a folder along with the AKC papers, vet paperwork, and chip ID. If your looking for a REAL dog Breeder Merielle is the REAL DEAL, she takes pride in caring for them. I will recommend everyone I know if they are looking for a Lab to find out if she has a litter for sale.

Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
