Q. & A. with Wayne

  • Why did you start breeding?

We've owned dachshunds for over 30 years. It all started 15 years ago when we had our first litter born. Our dachshunds are all health tested through multiple genetics companies and selected carefully depending on those results.
  • What makes your program special?

We health test all of our dachshunds through multiple genetics companies. Embark, animal genetics and paw print genetics. We also have our vet exam all adults annually (patellar luxation, heart health and eyes). They are socialized and treated like family first. We have play yards for our dachshunds which consist of pools, slides, tunnels and many, many toys to keep them busy daily.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, piebald, cream, red, wild boar, chocolate, fawn (isabella), brindle, black and tan, fawn (isabella) and cream, fawn (isabella) and tan, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, wheaten, blue and cream, black and cream, blue and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I don't even know where to begin to express how great it has been working with Wayne. He's so passionate about his dogs, their health and their happiness. He made this entire adoption process so easy by always sending updates, sharing tons of information and answering all my questions. His dogs are also top quality. Cookie Butter aka "Mr. Butters" is such a smart, polite, sweet, curious and brave dog. He has truly great breeding, excellent socialization and is adapting and learning so quickly. Truly so grateful for Wayne and all he has done for us. If I ever bring a second puppy into my house, it will be another RRD puppy!

Adopting Lincoln was 2 years in the making. When our last dog passed we were crushed. A few months later I thought I was ready for another dog and we reached out to Wayne. Turned out I was not ready and Wayne was very understanding. Fast forward nearly 2 years. We contacted Wayne and he responded right away. Lincoln is an absolute joy. In the week since he's been home he has filled the house with life, love and laughter. He's a very happy puppy, well mannered already and exceptionally beautiful. These are all qualities that I credit Wayne for in his careful breeding practices and his love, care and attention to all the pups in his home. Our vet of 20+ years was impressed at the level of care that Wayne and his vet provided the puppies during their first 8 weeks. Wayne puts his puppies first and I know he is there for us if we ever have any questions. I'm glad to be a part of this extended family. Michele and Carlos..and Lincoln

Wayne was absolutely wonderful to work with. From the very beginning it was clear how knowledgeable he is about dachshunds and how much he truly cares about the well being of every puppy he raises. He took the time to answer all of my questions and made sure I felt confident and prepared to bring my puppy home. You can really tell that his puppies are raised with love and care. I feel incredible lucky I found Wayne, and I couldn’t be happier with my sweet girl. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dachshund from someone who genuinely prioritizes the dogs futures and their future families.
