Meet the breeder

I'm Niki G., the breeder behind Riverlook Australian Shepherds located in Elkton, TN. Riverlook Australian Shepherds is a small hobby show breeder of quality and health tested Australian Shepherds. We love our dogs and enjoy sharing them with happy homes.

Q. & A. with Niki

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started raising Aussies in 2005. This was a few year after seeing and wanting a TX Heeler(Aussie x Heeler cross). We tried to find one and never could so my father decided to try and raise a litter of them for ourselves. We bought an Aussie but never went through with the cross as we fell in love with the Aussie breed.
  • What makes your program special?

All of our dogs are picked based on health, pedigree, conformation, and temperament. We want our dogs to be healthy and loyal companions but look good doing it. Our Aussies are bred to the AKC and ASCA breed standards where we have dogs titled and competing in conformation, agility, and other performance venues.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
