I'm Richard P., the breeder behind RL Phillips Shihtzus located in Mineola, TX. Our dogs have proven to be the greatest companions to our family. We started breeding to contribute to breed betterment and to share smart and loveable puppies with other families.

What makes your program special?
My wife and I have our 2 females and 1 male and they all stay in the house with us, they are family and all the pups are kept in the house not out in a kennel where they may not get the interaction with humans l, we handle the pups daily to ensure they are ready to be your furever companions.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include chocolate, liver, gold, red and white, and gold and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Richard has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Price
Puppy prices include a $400 non-refundable deposit and between $1,100 - $1,400 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“The price includes AKC registration, dewclaws removed, first set of vaccinations and worming. Our puppies are the same price regardless of male or female.”

Richard & Joy were a real pleasure to work with. They were very quick to respond when we had questions or just wanted more pictures of our sweet girl before picking her up. Richard & Joy’s puppies have the best temperament I’ve ever seen in a puppy. Our little Emmie is so laid back, but smart as a whip. She sleeps all night and goes potty outdoors already (at 9 weeks). She has been the best little addition to our family. If you’re contemplating getting a Shih Tzu puppy from Richard & Joy, go for it. They were excellent to work with and the puppies are phenomenal. You won’t be disappointed!

The Phillips’ were fantastic to work with. From the start they sent photos, answered questions, and kept us updated on our little guy Rocky (now Tater). When we arrived to pick him up, we were given some of Tater’s food, his blankie, shot records, and the guarantee. They were kind, knowledgeable, and you could tell they loved the puppies and their parents. We will definitely tell anyone looking for a a Shih Tzu that the Phillips are a class act.

Richard and Joy are the best! They took time to answer all my questions and are fast to respond. They have continued to respond to my questions after I took Lola home.
