Q. & A. with Amanda
Why did you start breeding?
We began breeding our own dogs because we wanted to be able to share the joy that they bring to us with other families.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs are very loved and have had many experiences as puppies because they live on a farm. We believe this sets them up for success at a young age by teaching them to be adaptable in different situations. We also have a great health and nutrition program.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Karakachan puppies include tri-color and white and black. Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppies include red, sable, white and red, white and black, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Litter update on 10 Jan. •
Holly’s puppies have been out for a few minutes to see their first snow on top of completing their second round of vaccines and had a third deworming today. To say the least they should sleep good tonight! They are ready for their new homes as soon as they can get there safely. Let’s see how the roads look in the morning and then we can decide if hats safest and best for pickup! We know everyone is excited but we want everyone to be safe! We sure don’t mind to have the sweet boys an extra day or 2 if need be!

Breeder-Reported Testing
Excellent level
Rock Solid Ranch reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Karakachans.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Animal Genetics Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
