Meet the breeder

I'm Stacy W., the breeder behind Rockin D Ranch located in Tuscola, TX. All Rockin D Australian Shepherds are ASDR registered and the adults are genetically tested. We aim to produce the perfect combination of ranch and family dogs. We look for certain traits in each of our breeding females: ability to work livestock, kindness, trainability, and temperament. Our puppies are raised in a family setting. All puppies are vaccinated with their first shot and are on a consistent deworming schedule by the time they leave at 8 weeks. The puppies will each leave with their own puppy kit which includes the following: ASDR Registration paperwork, Deworming schedule, shot schedule, a copy of the parent's genetic paperwork, a bag of their current puppy food, a tube of Digestisure, and their favorite stuffed animal. They are well-socialized and used to the outdoors by the time they depart our ranch.

Q. & A. with Stacy

  • Why did you start breeding?

If someone had mentioned 10 years ago that I would be breeding dogs, I would've said no way, it's to much work. Well that was before I ever bought my first Aussie. He was so well loved and the foundation of our breeding program, we simply couldn't stop with him, so we bought a female and that's how we started.
  • What makes your program special?

I believe the mix of having dogs that will work and also make good family dogs is what makes our program unique. To survive the ranch you have to be tough. These pups quickly learn what horses and cattle are and usually by 8 weeks the ones that want to work are stalking the cattle while the ones that are more couch potatoes sit back and watch. We have a little something for everyone.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
