Sue H.

Breeder of Labrador Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Sue H., the breeder behind Rocky Flats Kennels located in Tennessee. We specialize in breeding English AKC registered Labrador Retrievers in yellow, black, and fox red. We breed and formally used to show our dogs in AKC shows as well as international shows. We focus on conformation, intelligence, good temperament, and capabilities of each individual puppy.

Q. & A. with Sue

  • Why did you start breeding?

We fell in love with Labradors over 30 years ago with our first Lab Madison".She captured our hearts as soon as we brought her home.We enjoyed her intelligence, mischievousness, sweetness, and her ever-constant loyalty. Madison shared her "eager to please" attitude with us every day.It is because of her,the impression she made in our lives that we are the proud breeders of "The Dogs of Rocky Flats ".
  • What makes your program special?

Our kennels are family owned and all of our dogs and their puppies are family members to us. We are very selective in our placing process and require an application filled out , emailed to us as well as a telephone interview. We have an open house to meet our owners when the puppies are five weeks old. Getting to know the people that will take home a Rocky Flats kennels puppy is important to us.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
