Meet the breeder

I'm Ronni G., the breeder behind Rocky Mountain Dachshunds located in Missoula, MT. I am passionate about the dilutes and dapples and work hard to make sure that my dilutes are bred carefully to help reduce the risk of CDA. My dogs are a part of my family and live in our home and sleep with the members of our family. We are an active household and our dogs experience frequent child visitors and are well socialized. DNA testing and OFA certifications are a new world that we have embraced and are working harder all the time to better our practices.

Q. & A. with Ronni

  • Why did you start breeding?

In 2015, I fell in love with the breed and in 2016, I decided to venture into the world of breeding. I am the original Rocky Mountain Dachshunds MT located in the heart of the mountains of Montana.
  • What makes your program special?

I am working very hard to improve my breeding to breed to be the best Quality dachshund by dna testing and ofa certifying them. I currently have all my dogs ofa certified for their eyes and one of my studs (colt) is certified his eyes heart and knees he is also DNA tested AKC certified. All my females are AKC And are ofa certified for their eyes. Currently I have one female (Penelope’s ) DNA tested and I’m working on getting the rest of them DNA tested and OFA certified for their knees and hearts.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
