Meet the breeder

I'm Kathryn M., the breeder behind Rockycreek located in Columbia, NJ. The Mines Family, mom Gerie and daughters Kathy, Janice, and Sharon, have been competing and breeding our Labradors since 1969. We registered our AKC Kennel Name, Rockycreek in 1974. It is our goal to breed versatile Labradors. We have produced winners at both all-breed and specialty conformation shows, hunt tests, obedience and rally trials, as well as wonderful companions and reliable hunting dogs.

Q. & A. with Kathryn

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have been passionate about dogs from childhood. I read and learned everything I could about dogs. I always wanted to breed beautiful, healthy dogs that would be wonderful companions.
  • What makes your program special?

We try to improve with each breeding, using our best competition dogs with great temperaments, intelligence, trainability, structure and health clearances. When the puppies are born they go through Early Neurological Stimulation exercises and an extensive puppy development and socialization program to optimize success in competitions and as family companions.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
