I'm George R., the breeder behind Rohde Collies & Shetland Sheepdogs located in Tinley Park, IL. Our breeding program is based on Collie Club of America National-winning individuals and aims to produce rough and smooth Collies that are both competitive in the show ring and suitable as family companions.
Q. & A. with George
Why did you start breeding?
As a child, we developed a strong affinity for Collies and were fortunate to grow up surrounded by a powerhouse of Collie breeders in the south suburbs of Chicago.
What makes your program special?
We take great pride in our family of dogs and carefully consider each breeding to produce the finest examples of the Collie breed with outstanding virtues and physical and mental soundness. All of the Collies are health tested in conjunction with being members of the Collie Health Foundation. I require a home visit and application with every placement.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
