I'm Katie G., the breeder behind Romestar performance K9 located in Roanoke, VA. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament, focusing on performance dogs that can excel at any dog sport. We take great strides to make sure we socialize our pups. Puppies do not go to their new homes until they are 9 weeks of age. All our puppies are sold on limited AKC if they are not sport mixes. We have high expectations for our puppies and strive to place each one in an enriching and loving home!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I am devoted to ensuring there are happy and healthy Shetland Sheepdogs and Sporty mixes for others to enjoy, and I do so by responsibly growing this incredible breed. I strive for quality and excellence with everything that I do. Holding myself to high standards is paramount to the well-being of my dogs and to the integrity of my program.

  • What makes your program special?

    I genuinely cherish the dogs I produce and am committed to looking out for the breed as a whole. I know the health and status of every dog I have bred and am proud of the temperament and beauty of my quality puppies. It would be my pleasure to introduce you to your next Shetland Sheepdog or Sporty mix puppy.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Shetland Sheepdog puppies include black and white, sable and white, blue merle and white, and black white and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
