Q. & A. with Tressa
Why did you start breeding?
My family has a foundation in Africa and a long time breeder friend told me that my personality and character would fit me well for breeding. I needed a way to fund business start ups in Africa and also needed a way to show compassion to people in my own community and nation. Shelties are the ultimate compassionate dog...just what I was looking for to help heal wounded hearts.
What makes your program special?
I must say first of all it's the wonderful dogs that I am so privileged to work with. They lift my spirits continually and bring me such joy. But in the nuts and bolts of it, I focus on nutrition for strong bones and healthy composition. I refuse to compromise with cheap food. I make my own for the pregnant mother for optimal nutrition. Also I work very hard on socialization...my dogs will never ever be kennel dogs. They are Family.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
