Meet the breeder

I'm Millie H., the breeder behind Rose n’ Thistle Farm located in Paoli, IN. Here at Rose n’ Thistle Farm our goal is to produce great quality, healthy puppies that will make wonderful, sound family companions. Our dogs are our family here and we ensure that every one of our puppies goes to safe and loving forever homes!

Q. & A. with Millie

  • Why did you start breeding?

My love for dog began at an early age, I was with the Australian Shepherd breed. Well after my husband and I got married we were introduced to the idea of raising puppies from and friend, so of course Aussies were my first pick! My husband and I shortly there after got our first Aussie within the first year of marriage, and since then our pack has just grown❤️
  • What makes your program special?

One thing I didn't have a whole lot of growing up was dogs. My dad wasn't the biggest fan, so the running joke all growing up was "when you get married you can get all the dogs you want." Who knew I would take him so literally hah! I had a couple Beagles and a Australian Shepherds as a kid, and Mr. Halbert grew up on a farm with an assortment of different breeds, Blue Heelers being his preference. Well with taking that all into account, we decided to try and find a breed that was of sorts a combo of all those breeds, and what did we decide on, a Corgi! And from that time on our love for the breed has just grown, and we wanted to share that love with everyone! Thus our breeding program began, and we haven't looked back since! As a couple years past, we not only added a couple more Corgis to the pack, and a beautiful baby boy and girl of our own! Our family just continues to grow. Now we live on a beautiful farm out in rural Southern Indiana with our Corgis, kiddos, other barnyard friends, and we are loving every minute of it!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include golden and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
