I'm Katie M., the breeder behind Rosewood Standard Poodles located in Dora, MO. My dogs are health tested far beyond CHIC requirements and we enjoy competing in conformation and various performance and companion events! I only breed to improve and preserve the lines I have, so we don’t have puppies often. When I do though, raising them to be well-rounded, happy, and healthy is of the utmost importance to me!
Q. & A. with Katie
Why did you start breeding?
After being introduced to Poodles and breeding in general I quickly formed my own opinions on how I would want to do things and what my goals were. I truly love this breed and I can’t see where my life would be without Poodles.
What makes your program special?
Structure, health, temperament, and versatility all play a big role in my program! I’m striving to improve the breed! My dogs are carefully evaluated both by myself and experts in the breed as well as proven in conformation and other sports and events before ever considering breeding. I also carefully pick the sire to each litter based off of what my specific goal is each time!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include apricot, black, blue, cream, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Litter update on 14 Dec. 2024 •
This has been a busy week for the island puppies! They all have opened their eyes and started walking (albeit pretty wobbly but they’re all making good progress). They got their very first puppy trims (faces, feet, and tail bands trimmed), and they’ve had visitors almost every day!
