I'm Travis W., the breeder behind Roundabout Kennel located in Mount Horeb, WI. I am an AKC Breeder of Merit, having produced champion mini dachshunds. I have owned working Spanish Mastiff for 10 years. My program was built with care and intention in every step. I'm passionate about the health and wellbeing of this breed, and I want my program to be an example of how to responsibly breed high-quality, healthy dogs.
Q. & A. with Travis
Why did you start breeding?
I fell in love with mini dachshunds by accident. When I saw “Noah” running around the group ring at the 2008 Westminster Kennel Club dog show, it was love at first sight! When I realized Noah’s breeders lived only two hours away, I asked to come for a visit. The rest is history.
The Spanish Mastiff came ten years ago, when I met my first at a goat show! Lightning struck once again!
What makes your program special?
I pride myself on producing healthy, happy companions and working dogs that can also win in the show ring. A RoundAbout puppy should stand out in the crowd! My dogs combine some of the best bloodlines in the world and have distinguished themselves in the show ring, as family companions, and full time guardians. Each breeding is carefully planned to produce healthy dogs and advance the breed.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Dachshund puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
