Q. & A. with Wayne

  • Why did you start breeding?

We've owned dachshunds for over 30 years. It all started 15 years ago when we had our first litter born. Our dachshunds are all health tested through multiple genetics companies and selected carefully depending on those results.
  • What makes your program special?

We health test all of our dachshunds through multiple genetics companies. Embark, animal genetics and paw print genetics. We also have our vet exam all adults annually (patellar luxation, heart health and eyes). They are socialized and treated like family first. We have play yards for our dachshunds which consist of pools, slides, tunnels and many, many toys to keep them busy daily.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, piebald, cream, red, wild boar, chocolate, fawn (isabella), brindle, black and tan, fawn (isabella) and cream, fawn (isabella) and tan, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, wheaten, blue and cream, black and cream, blue and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Wayne is the best!!! One of the reasons I chose to work with him is because he cares where his puppies end up. He is not just trying to make a sale. His love for his animals is clear and he was so helpful during this process. Pony came home one week ago and I already can’t imagine life without him. He’s so smart, great in public and with socializing, and it barely took me a single night to crate train him. He is so secure and happy — that comes directly from Wayne and how he treats his puppies. Will be back for a sibling!!! 🐶💜

Wayne was lovely to work with! He has an incredible amount of knowledge about the breed and is clearly very thoughtful in how he runs his program. We got so many updates throughout the process and he was always available for questions before and after we picked her up! We are obsessed with our girl and are so happy with the whole experience

I don't even know where to begin to express how great it has been working with Wayne. He's so passionate about his dogs, their health and their happiness. He made this entire adoption process so easy by always sending updates, sharing tons of information and answering all my questions. His dogs are also top quality. Cookie Butter aka "Mr. Butters" is such a smart, polite, sweet, curious and brave dog. He has truly great breeding, excellent socialization and is adapting and learning so quickly. Truly so grateful for Wayne and all he has done for us. If I ever bring a second puppy into my house, it will be another RRD puppy!

I feel incredibly lucky to have found Wayne. While I didn’t have much experience raising a dog, he guided me through every step with patience and care and from feeding and training to vaccinations and preparing to bring my puppy home. The moment we met our puppy, it was obvious she had been raised with love. She has the sweetest temperament, and everyone in our family absolutely adores her. The biggest surprise has been what she has done for our family. Before Delilah came home, our weekends were usually pretty quiet. Now the house is full of energy and laughter. Family members who don’t even live with us find reasons to come over just to see her. 😅😂😘Somehow this little puppy has brought everyone closer together🥹٩😍۶😆🫶🏻❤️‍🔥 Wayne is, without a doubt, the most patient, thoughtful, and caring breeder I have ever met. His dedication to his dogs truly shows in every way. We couldn’t be happier with our puppy, and we are incredibly grateful to Wayne for everything he has done. I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I truly couldn’t imagine a better breeder than Wayne. His knowledge and genuine passion for his dachshunds were clear in every interaction. Wayne kept me updated through the entire process. He sent me many photos, videos, and we were also able to FaceTime. Wayne went above and beyond to make sure Kygo would have a seamless transition to his forever home. He is a wonderful breeder with the most beautiful dachshund!
