I'm Sarah R., the breeder behind Ruiz Dobermans located in Louisville, KY. Doberman Pinschers are our passion, and we can't imagine spending our lives without them. Having these dogs in our lives is such a blessing. We find so much fulfillment in providing that same companionship to other homes! We are dedicated towards achieving excellence and healthy family pets, and we love to raise puppies and prepare them for their forever homes.

  • What makes your program special?

    Socialization starts right away with our children ranging in age 2 to 11. Puppies are well socialized with other dogs in our home. All puppies are raised in our home from birth till they go home. We begin some training with puppies which includes leash walking, nail trimming, basic grooming, sit, basic obedience, and no bite. Anyone who buys one of our puppies will have breeder support for lifetime! We offer incentives to families that already have one of our puppies! I research the pedigree and health for every breeding match to ensure they will be the best representations of the breed for both health and temperament.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black and rust, blue and rust, fawn (isabella) and rust, and red and rust. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Sarah

Sarah has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $1,000 non-refundable deposit and between $3,000 - $4,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"Prices are based on the litter (euro or american/euro as well as titles on parents and their pedigrees). Price includes a $1000 non refundable deposit (which can be moved to a future litter if needed). If deposit is placed before puppies are born then its ONLY refundable if pregnancy doesn't take or if we don't end up having a puppy for you or it can be transferred to a future litter. Puppies will already be pre registered with AKC which means you don't have to worry about paying for the registration at all! Puppies will be registered under our kennel name but new owners can help pick the registration name. Please note registration name DOES NOT need to be the same as the call name. You will also receive a copy of their pedigree. All puppies are sold on limited registration (but can be transferred to full later) puppies will be UPT on their shots and dewormed 2,4,6 and 8 weeks old. Puppies will be cropped, docked and dews removed. We do offer all natural puppies which puppy would need to be paid off before tails or docked. (Tails are docked depending on crop vet we get in with. Either at 3 days old or 7 weeks old. This will be decided BEFORE puppies are born). They will be microchipped with AKC reunite. All our puppies are the same price (in that litter) regardless of color, gender or size. Your puppy will also come with a puppy care package. You will ALWAYS have breeder support for life! Puppies will be well socialized and are raised in our home with children and other dogs from birth till time to leave to their new homes. Puppies are matched with their families and is a agreed upon pick. Puppies are NOT picked till around 7 weeks old which will be right before cropping. We DO NOT offer military crops. Only medium or show crops. Deposit is required to reserve puppy, contract is signed at time of pick up. $1000 non refundable. Is able to be transferred to another litter and does go towards final amount."

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation , Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Full Embark Panel, DNA Disease Panel, von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Sarah was so responsive. When I first saw her page and reached out for the available puppies, she replied right a way.     After my Chihuahua passed from old age, I wasn't sure if I wanted to get another dog. I've always wanted a Doberman but wasn't sure if I were ready so I waited. Browsing the local breeders in my state, I found Ruiz Dobermans on Gooddog. I saw her pups and instantly fell in love with them. They were far better looking than the other breeders pups near us. They seemed so much healthier. I like that Ruiz has transparency on the health records and breeding. She frequently post updates, videos and pics on FB so you can see the puppy's growth progress. Sarah Ruiz was super helpful, knowledgable and very friendly. I had a million questions about Dobermans and she was happy to help. She gave me all of the information I needed to make an informed decision on adoption. She's always there if you have questions or need help with something. I can't say enough good things about her. As far as her price, you get what you pay for: well bred, equisite bloodlines and amazing health & temperment. I've gotten so many compliments on my puppy how smart and healthy she is. The price was totally worth it and I'd do it again for how amazing she is. This pup is my best friend and you can't put a price on that.
