About Hank
Hank has a fantastic temperament. He’s on the calmer side but still enjoys hiking, playing fetch or just snuggling with his people. Hank is a great example of a well bred Labrador. He's loved by all who meet him. We are so thankful to have him as a part of our program.

Labrador Retriever
About Nia
Nia is exceptional. She’s your typical lab, LOVES water. Nia’s temperament is incredibly tender, she is very in tune with her human family and is happy to snuggle near when she senses high emotions. She loves a good hike or swim with her family but is also happy to lounge around with the kids to watch a movie.
Golden Retriever
About Hazel
We imported Hazel from Romania a little over two years ago. She is a delight. Hazel is smart, sweet and eager to please. Her coat is silky smooth, and she is happy to be with her people. Whether she’s on an adventure in the car, running through the woods or just hanging out on the couch, she’s a happy girl.
Great level
Rustic Cabin Retrievers reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Labrador Retrievers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), D Locus (Dilute) DNA test
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
