I'm Kennedy M., the breeder behind Rutu Australian Labradoodles located in Belding, MI. We are an in-home Australian Labradoodle breeder located in Belding, MI. We place the highest priority on the health and well-being of both our puppies and adult breeding dogs, ensuring each puppy goes home healthy, happy, and with an exceptional temperament!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I started grooming my dog, Fig and soon opened a grooming business with 80+ regular clients. While I loved grooming, I realized my true calling was in ethical breeding, raising healthy, well-rounded Australian Labradoodles with great temperaments for loving families. I still groom all my own dogs, and bathe my puppies once a week starting at 5 weeks old to get them used to the grooming process.

  • What makes your program special?

    At Rutu, my dogs aren’t just dogs or profit, they’re family. Each puppy is raised in my home with love, attention, and early socialization. I focus on health, temperament, and training so every puppy leaves me ready to be a cherished part of yours. I miss each and every puppy that leaves here, but I know they'll be so well loved by their new families!

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies include miniature and medium sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include caramel and chocolate. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Kennedy

Kennedy has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Kennedy partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We want to make sure you and your puppy are the perfect match. If there's one or two from a litter that you think are especially adorable, that’s great! We’ll work closely with you to help choose the one whose temperament and personality we think will best fit your lifestyle. If there’s ever a situation where you don’t feel particularly drawn to any of the puppies in the litter, or if there’s one you like but we feel it might not be the best fit temperament-wise, you’re welcome to transfer your reservation fee (up to two times) to the next available litter. We know our puppies best since we spend a lot of time getting to know each one through temperament testing and observation so we ask that you trust our judgement, but we’re always happy to talk with you about your lifestyle and preferences to help ensure you pick the right match! ​”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $2,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Includes 2-year health guarantee, first vaccines, deworming, go-home bag with helpful puppy raising info, a toy with mom/sibling scent, and a food sample. Puppies are $3,200 total, regardless of size or coat color. A $500 non-refundable deposit (applied to the total) will hold your spot and can be paid via multiple convenient methods.”

Contract & health guarantee

Kennedy may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
